"4 years ago God reached in and intervened into one of the darkest seasons of my life, a time were confidence, self esteem and trust where non existent", Jo explains. "Over the following year God begun his work redefining the way I saw God and his character, reminding me that God is not the same as humanity, but his character is good and his position in my life is sovereign. He redefined the love that I had been seeking for so long, and reminded me that he does not abuse, control or manipulate, unlike the relationships and positions of earthly power that I had so wrongly associated with his.
The words in this song begun to flow from a place of healing and redemption, a time where God reshaped my heart and abolished the lies I had heard for so long. A spent time repenting for the lies I had partnered with, for the mistrust I developed in who God is and declared over and over again that God is sovereign and his place is on his throne!
My prayer as people hear this song, is that we might pursue the true, authentic, sovereign character of God that goes beyond what you may experience from this world around us. That we would come face to face with his love, his love that is loyal, kind, that isn't dominate or controlling, his voice that is truth, wisdom and honour."
