The song moves from reflection to surrender as Traylor considers the storms he has faced and the faithfulness he has experienced along the way. That message carries particular weight in light of Traylor’s own story. A retired U.S. Army Special Forces combat veteran and lifelong musician, he writes frequently about faith, redemption, restoration, family relationships and the challenges faced by veterans, including PTSD and suicide. His music blends elements of Christian, Country and Southern Rock with storytelling drawn from lived experience.
Traylor has been performing since the age of seven and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance as well as a Master of Arts. He also served as a member of the “Commandant’s Own,” U.S. Marine Corps Drum & Bugle Corps. His catalog includes Rock of Ages, Baton Rouge, Gold Star Town, Walk Through the Fire and “Right Here.” Gold Star Town received an honorable mention in the 2023 Mid-Atlantic Songwriter’s Contest, while Baton Rouge reached #40 on the GlacierFM Country Music Chart.
