Ivey shares, “This song has been with me through one of the hardest seasons in my life. I had just lost my church, my friends, my faith… I felt like I had nothing, and I thought God hated me. But somehow in the middle of all the grief and confusion, I knew one thing – Jesus loved me. What started out as a private prayer… a song just for me… became something more. The idea of Jesus being my friend brought me comfort when I felt completely alone. No matter where are you in your journey – whether you believe or are still figuring it out, – Jesus is my friend.. and He can be yours too.”
