The new song is the first single taken from Reuben's forthcoming final project, due for release later in 2012, before the university student hangs up the microphone ahead of his planned career as a primary school teacher.
"Heading back to Bebington from Liverpool I visit places which are special to me, catch up with old friends and also get the chance to kick a football around with the boys", explains Reuben about the new video. "When we're young we dream dreams, hold onto (sometimes false) hopes, create memories and live for the present. Young Dreams is all about how even when we grow older and mature we can still look back on past memories with a fondness no matter how they eventually turn out. Not only should we be thankful that they were made but also thankful that we can keep them locked in our minds eye. Young Dreams takes a step back in time, revisiting memories of a past crush, a great summer and much more."
The song features backing vocals from Charity Moore and the video was filmed and edited by Josh Mellor and Tom Baker.
Reuben James has been rapping since 2007, performing up and down the country at festivals, clubs, schools, camps, church's, youth clubs, on radio shows and in front of the camera.
