Christian Rap Artist Dee Davis Releases 'Can't Break Free'

Oct 19 2020

London, UK, based Dee Davis has released his new single 'Can't Break Free'. The song, written, recorded and produced himself, is a reflection, portrayed through deep lyrical imagery, of a difficult time in his past. "God used the challenges to bring me to closer to him, but at the time I didn't know it was God", he reveals.

"I remember the moment I gave up. I thought I would never 'break free' out of the lifestyle I was living. Within a week or so of me saying that, my life was changed forever as I realised God wanted to save me and turn my life around. The song is written from two different perspectives. Verse one, during the difficult time and verse two, written as I look back and reflect on a consequence of the difficult time.

Before I started making music in the studio, God gave me opportunities to 'cut my teeth', rapping about his grace on my life in some of the UK's biggest city centres: Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol, London and Manchester. Testifying to the goodness of God at Evangelistic Events. From there it was was a natural evolution to the studio. My influences and style come from Da Truth, Guvna B, Eshon Burgundy and mainstream artists Dave and Wretch 32."

'Can't Break Free' is available on all major digital and streaming platforms. Work has already begun on the follow up to 'Can't Break Free', a song about how God gave Dee the breakthrough.
