Louder Than The Music

Renowned Brooklyn-based indie hip-hop DJ Leecy T has shifted from her usual style of music to make a mixtape of solely christian songs. 'God Is Good Vol. 1' is the first in a series of mixtapes and is due out November 20, 2020, via 410 EntertainmentBK on Mixcloud.

At 26 minutes long, the mixtape features pop, hip hop and r&b songs from legends such as Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary and Toby Mac. It also includes new tracks from Kanye West, Deitrick Haddon and others. It is a mix of classic and current with DJ Leecy T seamlessly blending them together and adding flair with scratches.

According to DJ Leecy T, “This is something I have been thinking of doing for a long time growing up as a believer. During these trying times I have leaned on music, my family and God to get me through.”

It's a project that ’ s been over a year in the making. DJ Leecy T is no stranger to shifting genres. In addition to making music with her hip hop group M-TRI & DJ Leecy T , she performs and records with the bluegrass/hip hop fusion group Gangstagrass . She contributed scratches to their recent album No Time For Enemies which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass charts and made history as the first #1 bluegrass album to feature rappers.

DJ Leecy T will continue to spread love through music, including crossing genres to do so. It is in a DJ’s nature to mix. With this project she has taken it to the next level keeping it fun and including the gospel.
