Jonathan Ogden Releases 'Love That Never Ends' Ahead of 'Songs From Home' EP
Jonathan Ogden, a musician, designer and producer from Manchester, UK, who formed the band Rivers & Robots, has released his latest solo single 'Love That Never Ends', taken from his 'The Songs From Home' EP, due to be released April 2nd.
"During the lockdowns in Manchester, with all the Rivers & Robots tours on hold, I viewed my time indoors as an invitation to return to the secrecy and simplicity of prayer and worship at home.
The Songs From Home EP was written and recorded during this time, with songs that brought hope in the mundane moments, wrestling with all the thoughts and emotions that come from being alone with God.
But “Love That Never Ends†is one of the most fun tracks on the EP. It's about joyful dependence on God. Sometimes I’ve seen being independent and self-sufficient as a goal and something to strive for. But I'm coming to realise that life with God is about learning to depend on Him and realise that we don't need to have it all together and in fact, we'll never fully find that joy by looking to ourselves.
My life is in His hands - the one whose love is everlasting. And that’s the place we can really rest and be satisfied. I hope you enjoy the song"
Starting out with a bedroom recording project in 2010, he began to write and release albums as Rivers & Robots, while working full time as a graphic designer. The project went on to become a 4-piece band in 2012, with the release of the first band album, All Things New. In 2016 he released a short EP of acoustic songs based on the psalms under his own name, called By The Streams.
The following year he went on a more experimental journey with The Seasons Project: a series a four EPs based on the four seasons in the year, each one exploring a different genre of music but keeping the core themes consistent throughout. Most recently, he worked on a beat-tape called Twenty Four - another experimental project featuring 24 tracks based on the 24 hours in a day. He is passionate telling stories through music and visual art, especially working with the combination of the two. Jonathan continues to record and tour with his band Rivers & Robots, release home-made tracks under his own name, and work as a freelance graphic designer.
