Movement Worship Collective Release Latest Single 'Come'

May 24 2021

'Come' is Movement Worship Collective's latest release. It’s as much a prayer as it is a song, waiting for God. The catchy melodies, acoustic instrumentation and choral vocals emerces the listener in a simple tune that you’ll catch yourself singing for the rest of the day.

This is what Liam from Movement Worship Collective had to say about the song and the story behind it: “As I was in my room worshipping I was inspired to pray, like the early church on the day of Pentecost, for God and His Spirit to come into the room and move the way He wanted to. I didn’t want to control it by forcing it, or miss what the Holy Spirit was saying. I simply prayed and sang “Holy Spirit come.” I believe that must be the oldest prayer of the Christian Church.

During the time between Jesus’ ascension and the day of Pentecost we are told that the believers simply met together and waited until Holy Spirit came. So often as the modern day church we function on auto pilot, following schedules and orders of service. “Come” is an invitation for the church to join in with that ancient prayer of waiting, “Holy Spirit come.”
