Tom Read Releasing 'To Be Closer' Ahead of Acoustic EP
Tom Read, a singer-songwriter and producer, based in Oxford, UK, releases his new single 'To Be Closer' on October 21. The single is taken from his forthcoming new acoustic EP which will be released in November.
"A while ago I had the chance to record an acoustic EP at Tileyard Studios in London", explains Tom. "The plan was to release this EP in early 2020, but then Covid hit and all my plans changed along with everyone else's. So I'm finally happy to announce that my new acoustic EP will be released in November, and you can pre-save the first single, TO BE CLOSER right now.

Tom's 2013 solo album 'Compass' reached #1 on the iTunes album charts in Hong Kong, and stayed in the Top 20 for 2 weeks. The album also charted in both the UK and US iTunes Top 100 albums.
Tom has written for established and emerging artists alike, with writing and production credits including multi-platinum selling Asian pop star, Sammi Cheng, Joseph Washbourn (Toploader), Bryony Dunn, Rob Davis (Kylie), New Wine Worship, Lou Fellingham, St Aldates Worship and more.
In 2018, Tom released 'Lament'. A collection of songs 5 years in the making- Lament explores this under discussed expression through a heart wrenching journey of honest and raw lyricism, set to a dynamic and engaging soundscape. In May 2018, the single ‘Dead Things To Life’ went to #1 on the UK Christian Chart.
In 2020, Tom released 'Reorient' (EP) and 'Stabal Session' (Live Album) which resulted in Spotify editorial playlist placements, as well as national radio play in the UK.
