Local Sound Release 'To The King' EP Inspired By House Church Movement

May 13 2022

The new project from Nashville-based band Local Sound, To The King, releases today (Integrity Music). The five-song EP came together as an expression of the heart of Local Sound’s home church movement, MyLocal.

While being together in each other’s houses week by week, studying scripture, and sharing life, sparked the inspiration for To The King. Writing worshipful responses to God’s faithfulness from everyone’s stories, Local Sound’s music is saturated with the nearness of their community, instilling a sense of belonging into the family of God through each song.

From the project's funk-infused title track to the slower worship on "On Christ," each song has a different feeling and response to the countless ways the group sees God in their lives as a band and as a church. To The King is a call to go beyond listening and to participate in the act of worship, and Local Sound’s hope most of all is to bring listeners closer to Jesus.
