Philippines Singer Mary Ozaraga Releasing New Single 'Fly'

Oct 12 2022

Mary Ozaraga, a Singer-Songwriter and Worship Leader in Cebu, Philippines, releases her new single 'Fly' on October 18, 2022.

"Fly is a serenade to an unborn baby lost through a natural pregnancy loss", Mary explains. "It speaks for a mother, a father and a sibling's longing, imagining the what ifs and could haves. Set to a waltz, Fly hopes to bring words to grief, to permit dreaming and to bring comfort with truth and peace. This was written for my best friend's unborn baby, someone prayed for, someone promised. Not the easiest emotions to process, or song to write. But I hope this gives a voice to unspoken, unprocessed grief - no matter how long."

Mary began sharing her music during the lockdowns in 2020, eventually releasing 3 singles & a 3 track Christmas EP in 2021, and 3 more singles in 2022. Her playfulness and musical influences are seen in how she experiments with song styles, ranging from folk/singer songwriter to rap/rhythmic to alternative/symphonic rock. Her background as a drummer is evident in her rhythmic guitar playing, in her songwriting and in her singing style.

Even with varied musical influences, she continues to search for the music of her country's history with a hope to one day raise up worship with music that is now almost completely forgotten.
