Artists Unite To Help Nashville After Flood Devastation
Following the recent flooding that has devastated Nashville, a number of Christian artists are getting involved in various fund raising projects. Tennessee received a quarter of its yearly rainfall in a two-day period, leaving at least 17 people dead and many homeless. Relief efforts have seen the public pulling together to assist their neighbours and now Christian artists are joining the fund raising effort.
The 'Love Your Neighbor' benefit concert will take place on 18th May at Fellowship Bible Church in Brentwood, Tennessee, featuring Brandon Heath, tobyMac, Jason Ingram, Mike Donehey (Tenth Avenue North) and Britt Nicole. Funds raised will help El Shaddai, a local church devastated by the recent flooding in Middle Tennessee. For more information visit

Elsewhere, 'Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery' will take place on 22nd June at the Bridgestone Arena featuring Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Miley Cyrus, LeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood amongst others. Proceeds will go to the Community Foundation which provides philanthropic services that enhance the Middle Tennessee area. Visit www.nashvillerising.org for more information.
"The damage that we’ve seen to people's homes and the effect that the flooding has had on their lives is unimaginable. But we’ve seen the spirit of our community first hand, as volunteers, church groups and our local business leaders rally to help," said Tim McGraw and Faith Hill who are spearheading Nashville Rising. "We all need to continue to support those in need in anyway that we can, and for that reason we could not be more appreciative to all of the artists, the companies and the people behind the scenes, who collectively, will make June 22nd a truly special night."
