Folabi Nuel Spreads Hope with New Single 'In Control'

Oct 04 2023

Often referred to as Nigeria’s Travis Greene, Folabi Nuel has a voice that transcends his age and grips the soul of the listener. The deeply emotive singer is renowned for his passionate and raw delivery which showcases his vocal dexterity. Compelling, believable, and heartfelt are a few words that best describe Folabi’s artistry.

The gifted singer wears many hats; Movie soundtrack contributor, worship leader, recording artist, podcast host and author, to name but a few. His latest release “In Control” is a gentle yet powerful reminder of God’s promise to never leave nor forsake us. The two-minute track sees Folabi masterfully draw the listener into an intimate place and quiet their soul as he croons “…Hold your head up high God is on your side… yes He’s in control.”

Speaking about the new song, Folabi said: “You find yourself in a safe space mentally when you listen. I was in a season of doubt and very much in a low place in my life and I heard these words “when you are feeling, remember I am in control” I went straight to home studio and produced an entire song in 2 hours with those words stuck in my head.”

“In Control” is released off the back of Folabi’s critically acclaimed duet with UK gospel R&B singer, Sharyn. The duo reimagines Donnie McClurkin’s “Great is your Mercy”, giving it a stripped back acoustic twist.
