Dr. Alyn E. Waller of Enon Tabernacle Releases Single 'I've Decided to Make Jesus My Choice'
Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller is the Senior Pastor of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A highly sought-after internationally renowned revivalist and lecturer, Dr. Waller is a true visionary of the church and the community who serves humanity far beyond the restraints of traditionalism. He has delivered legendary sermons for three decades while keeping music at the forefront of his celebrated ministry.
The heart of Dr. Waller’s ministry can be felt through his musical gifts and passion for live instrumentation and vocals. In 2004, Dr. Waller released his album, WITH HIS PERMISSION. In 2015, Enon Tabernacle and Dr. Waller founded the Enon Music Group (EMG) record label and released DR. ALYN E. WALLER PRESENTS ENON TABERNACLE - THE EXPERIENCE. The album garnered three Stellar Award nominations and the single “Making A Way,†which ranked #1 on Billboard Hot Singles Chart for four weeks.
The singing pastor is set to release new music in 2024. "I've Decided To Make Jesus My Choice" is Dr. Waller's latest single, one of the best-loved classic hymns in sacred music. His commanding song delivery is soulful and draped in his anointed flow. “I’ve Decided To Make Jesus My Choice†was written by Harrison Johnson and initially recorded by his choir Harrison Johnson and the Los Angeles Community Choir in 1973. The single is available now on all digital music outlets and is the precursor to Dr. Waller’s forthcoming EP I STILL BELIEVE.
Dr. Waller will celebrate this music release and his 60th birthday by taking the stage at City Winery Philadelphia on Tuesday, April 9, for two highly entertaining Jazz and Gospel-infused sets. Mister Mann's Jam Band, a collective of immensely talented musicians who have entertained and inspired Philadelphia area audiences for over a decade, will be the band for Dr. Waller's jam session.
There will be two live shows for "Mister Mann Presents…Pastor Waller’s 60th Birthday Jam Session Live" at 6pm (sold out) and 9:30pm.
Dr. Waller will be donating the proceeds of his City Winery show to two Philadelphia-based organizations:
The Achievers Brunch Association celebrates and supports young Black men from Philadelphia high schools who are currently matriculating on campuses nationwide. The organization is run by event host/curator, Mister Mann Frisby and world-renowned magician Randy Shine.
The Quinn Center for Performing Arts nurtures and develops the artistic talents of students from 2 to 18 years old in the Philadelphia area. Their studio, led by Eryka Waller (daughter of Dr. Waller), prepares its participants for competitions while also building self-esteem and confidence and teaching the importance of teamwork.
