Michael W Smith & Amy Grant Perform At Nashville Rising Benefit Concert
Michael W Smith and Amy Grant joined an all star list of secular music artists for the 'Nashville Rising' benefit concert for flood recovery on 22nd June at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Also performing at the concert were artists such as Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and ZZ Top. Academy Award winning actress Sandra Bullock was among the special guests during the event.
Writing on his twitter page Michael W. Smith said, "Last night was amazing! Looks like 3 million dollars was raised for flood victims. Impressive! Thank you Nashville!" Michael performed two songs at the concert, 'Place In This World' and a cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic, 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'.
A sold out crowd watched 'Nashville Rising' inside the Bridgestone Arena, which was organised by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill with proceeds benefiting The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, which is working to address flood relief and recovery in Middle Tennessee.
