Netherlands Worship Leader Sjoerd Benschop Releasing 'Abba'
Sjoerd Benschop, a songwriter and worship leader from the Netherlands, releases his latest single, 'Abba', on October 25th.
'Abba' is a modern English translation of a well-known Dutch Christian song. This track combines the original message with indie and pop influences, creating a fresh, contemporary sound for worship and CCM fans.
"The song resonates the heart of the Father for us", explains Sjoerd. "God isn't distant or absent, but He's involved with us, He loves us, He is our Father. He delights in us.
I have released an album and a bunch of songs over the years. I started writing about age 16, and I've first released in 2020 at age 21. Lately me and Rick, my producer, have been trying to adapt more indie-pop influences in our new song, and our productions have been at a new level for a while. We released three songs early 2024, and this song is the first of four songs that we are releasing over the next half year."
