The Band Table Releasing 'What Could Have Been' (Radio Version)

Mar 26 2025

The Band Table releases, 'What Could Have Been' to Christian radio and streaming platforms.

"What Could Have Been" is featured alongside a few of other songs by The Band Table during the Pre-Jam at each show on this year's WinterJam Tour and the response has been electric.

"The radio version of this song was emulated in the same fashion as how we've been performing it live each night", explains The Band Table.

"One morning, I was thanking the Lord for the cross and His many blessings. And a thought occurred to me: ‘What if there was no cross? No blood? No resurrection? What if Jesus left us in the mistakes that we made; in the life we truly deserved?

I started singing an idea that started like this:

“Darkness no source of light
Cages I built through this life
Would capture me and throw away the prison key
Chaos would wrestle my mind
Helpless I’d give up the fight
Without Him I’d be left here in my sin
That’s what could have been”

What a terrifying thought, but that’s not what happened! He did come! He did die for all of our sins and He is risen!

“Jesus broke through the dark
The earth shook
The doors were unlocked
He stormed the gates of Hell
And set the prisoner free
My Savior
Ransomed my life
My Hero
He won the fight
Without Him I’d be left here in my sin
Praise God that that’s
Not how this story ends
That’s what Jesus did!”
