Strong Lineup As Greenbelt Festival 2010 Approaches
One of the UK's most well known events, the Greenbelt Festival, begins in just over one weeks time, with a strong lineup of bands and artists taking part. US rock band Jars Of Clay are the biggest name on the bill, scheduled to close the festival on Monday 30th August. Meanwhile British group thebandwithnoname will perform on the opening day, Friday 27th August, just one week before their final ever show.
Headlining the main stage on Saturday night will be English indie rock band Shed Seven. Amongst the artists performing on Sunday are British R&B singer Beverley Knight, the London Community Gospel Choir, and well known worship leader Stuart Townend. Festival favourite Martyn Joseph will also be performing as part of The Rising, his unique session with songwriters discussing songcraft and writing.
The Greenbelt Festival takes place at Cheltenham Racecourse and typically attracts over 20,000 people each year. The festival has been running for over 35 years, rooted within a Christian tradition. In addition to music the festival also hosts a rich programme of visual and performing arts, spirituality, comedy, talks and discussion.
