Louder Than The Music

Singer/songwriter/survivor Benny DiChiara and his chart-topping indie Christian Rock band, Empowered, will perform at the Pray for Mayberry benefit concert on November 15, 2025. The concert, sponsored by iHeart Radio and 89.7 The Word in Fort Smith, Arkansas, will raise funds to finish a documentary film about Christian Mayberry, who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a devastating ATV accident 10 years ago when he was a high school football player.

The concert will take place at 7:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Vian Assembly of God, 205 W. Schley Street, Vian, Oklahoma 74962. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The concert is free, but donations are welcome.

On the heels of their recent performance at the 2025 Louisiana Legends Fest, Empowered will perform music from their latest EP, SALT (Slingshot Records), including the first single, "The One," which they perform in the documentary.

Empowered's involvement in the film began when the band's lead singer, Benny DiChiara, met Mayberry at the 2024 National Religious Broadcaster's Convention (NRB) in between media interviews. There was an instant connection when DiChiara learned that Mayberry had suffered the same brain injury that he had also suffered, and the two stayed in touch.

"One of the biggest surprises that God could ever give me was meeting Christian at the NRB Convention in Dallas," DiChiara remembers.
"After finding out that we both had gone through traumatic brain Injuries, it was an instant connection. A God thing," he says. "We're so excited to perform in concert for this special event to raise funds for the completion of the documentary being put together by producer Jered Allen. Here's praying that people get to see God working miracles right before their eyes!"
