Interview: Rich & Lydia Dicas

Dec 05 2025

Louder Than The Music managed to catch up with the brilliant Rich & Lydia Dicas for a little quick fire interview as they release their new EP 'Still Here'.

1. You have a new EP out called 'Still Here' can you tell us a little bit about this new release ?

‘Still Here’ is a deeply honest and vulnerable collection of laments and tantrum psalms born out of our own unanswered prayers. Lydia has battled with chronic pain for many years and we’re still waiting and believing for healing. These songs were all recorded and produced at home - I wrote them as a way of praying and processing in the midst of waiting.

2. What message would you like for people to take away from this new EP ?

One of the songs has the lyric - ‘don’t mistake my honesty for cynicism’. The invitation for anyone listening is to approach these songs as an invitation for deeper connection with God rather than a turning away. To find him in the middle of our suffering and not just in the hope of escaping it. The Bible is full of laments - honest songs that don’t shy away from pain but always lead us into a deeper level of trust and worship. Our hope is that would take away from these songs permission to be more honest with God and to realise that he’s a loving Father who wants to meet us and embrace us in all circumstances.

3.Which artist(s) inspired you to want to be a musician and why ?

So many. My school music teacher Mike Skipper gave me a deep love for music.

4. What is your Favorite Album of all time and why?

Grace by Jeff Buckley

5. What was your First Gig you went to? When and where?

It must have been Delirious - can’t remember where, but remember it being awesome!

6. What was the Last Gig you went to ? When and Where?

Gemma Hayes at St Pancras Church. I’ve listened to Gemma’s music for ages and she was flawless. She was supported by up and coming artist Lily Lyons who was utterly astonishing.

7. What does next year look like for you both ?

We are continuing to work for KXC where we pastor the worship team and lead our regular worship and prayer nights. We also live a community house of prayer and worship in North London which is very life-giving. There’s lots of new projects coming soon - a Wildfires live album, a new KXC live album and plenty more songs. We love writing songs for the church and leading worship is a huge honour that we get to do.
