Jason Gray's 'Comfort & Joy' Featuring Point Of Grace Became The No. 1 Christmas Radio Single Of 2025
Acclaimed Centricity Music singer/songwriter Jason Gray topped the Christian Mediabase AC published radio chart for two consecutive weeks during the recent Christmas season with 'Comfort & Joy' that features the impeccable harmonies of Platinum-selling vocal group Point of Grace. The song also prompted Pandora to highlight Gray as the cover of its Contemporary Christian Christmas station.
Written and recorded before his first Christmas tour with Point of Grace, which was reprised this past season, Gray recalls what led to the creation of “Comfort & Joy” that was produced by his son, Kipper: “I had gotten some painful news the day before we wrote this song,” he shares. “I almost cancelled the write, but at the last minute decided to go. I was a bit broken hearted when I got there, but I noticed that as we (Point of Grace and I) talked about all the things that make Christmas ‘Christmas’ for us, I got caught up in the spirit of the season. And I experienced how even just that spirit—so saturated with Christ—has healing, restorative powers in and of itself.
“My spirit was lifted and, in spite of what was going on in my life, I think we wrote a pretty joyful song!” continues Gray. “Such inauspicious beginnings. I hope that Spirit finds you wherever you are and brings you tidings of comfort and joy.”
Expressing his thanks to radio for playing the song, Gray adds, “In a world where common ground is shrinking and shared experiences are more and more scarce, radio seems more meaningful than ever to me—for shaping culture, building up larger communities, broadcasting hope and for setting a large table millions can gather around.”
Following several Christmas tour dates with Point of Grace last month, including an event at Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, Gray continued performing additional solo Christmas concerts, including one joined by Nichole Nordeman who is a featured guest on his Christmas Stories: Repeat the Sounding Joy album released in 2012.
Gray’s latest studio offering, Greatest Hits (Acoustic), contains all new, re-imagined acoustic performances of his 12 biggest-ever hits spanning his acclaimed, 19-year career. All of these original recordings, which have accumulated over 131 Million streams to date, are also now available in Dolby Atmos.
