Les And Joyce Carlsen Declare That 'He's God' With A Triumphant New Rock Single

Feb 15 2026

Les and Joyce Carlsen have confidently declared that “He’s God” with their triumphant new rock single, out everywhere now.

“‘He’s God’ was born out of awe,” explains veteran Christian rocker Les Carlsen, best known for his pioneering role in Bloodgood. “Creation is already shouting His glory—rocks, trees, skies—so why should we be silent? This idea came alive for me—the joy, the awe, the sheer bigness of God, and a holy frustration that we’ll scream our lungs out for a football team but sometimes whisper about the Creator of the universe. Praise isn’t polite applause—it’s a celebration. It’s stadium-level, Psalm-150, crash-the-cymbals, shout-it-from-your-chest praise.”

That’s exactly the tone of the triumphant progressive rock song, a track that both reflects the deep legacy of Les’s decades of accomplishment in the genre while propelling his work into something distinctly fresh and modern. Collaborating with his wife Joyce Carlsen and with Craig Church, “He’s God” is the second single from the full-length album Free Will, which was fully funded by fans on Kickstarter. Joy saturates every power-packed guitar riff. Les's lead vocals and Joyce's backing vocals are marked by amazement. The declaration comes with a matter-of-fact clarity that comes from many years of working in discipleship:

Wind blows and nobody knows where it comes from
Rain pours and thunder explodes from heaven
Hearts beat and they repeat, over and over
Because He made it so
Something that you must know:
He’s God!

The song releases at the pinnacle of the Carlsen’s tour through Germany in partnership with the CVJM Loud and Proud Festival team. They will also be appearing later this Spring at the Light the Dark festival in Sweden. All of their activity surrounds a season of ministry built around the Free Will album, which MyndBynd magazine has described as a project that “walks the line between sophistication and raw power. It’s grounded in classic hard rock DNA, but injected with a modern aggression.”
