Peg Luke Re-releases 'Almighty Victorious' and Drops New Music Video
Acclaimed flutist, composer, and Emmy/Grammy - nominated artist Peg Luke returns with a re-release of her powerful single, 'Almighty, Victorious,' originally released on January 2, 2023. This new edition features a freshly remade lyric video, bringing the song's timeless message to both longtime fans and new listeners.
Leaning into Irish musical tradition, 'Almighty, Victorious' expands its arrangement with Celtic instruments, including fiddle, guitar, and bagpipes. A deeply personal touch is added by Peg Luke's stepdaughter, Ginny Luke, who performs the fiddle parts, creating a generational connection that enhances the song's spiritual and devotional tone. Production and guitar work from Lucas Sader help the piece feel layered, expansive, and intimate all at once.
The lyrics convey themes of resilience, faith, and enduring strength. Drawing from the language of traditional Christian hymns, phrases like "immortal, invisible" and "light inaccessible" frame God as eternal and beyond human comprehension, while "the ancient of days" emphasizes divinity as steadfast and unchanging.
For Peg Luke, music has always been a lifeline. A life-altering autoimmune disease has limited her live performances and teaching, but she continues to create and share her artistry online. "Many times I wanted to quit... but you see, God is still speaking (not me)!" Luke explains, reflecting on the perseverance that fuels both her life and her music.
A classically trained pianist and flutist, Peg Luke began her musical journey at the ages of five and seven, respectively. Her foundation in classical music continues to shape her compositions and arrangements today. Reflecting on the evolution of her artistry, Luke says, "Wow, so much has evolved since then! My love for music still exists, and that love initially led me to music early on... I think my early teachers would be proud of what I've become."
Through 'Almighty, Victorious,' Peg Luke shares a message of hope, devotion, and enduring faith, inviting listeners to pause, reflect, and connect with the eternal.
