Karen Salicath Jamali Announces Two-Track EP 'Angel Sandalphon The Music Lake'
Composer, pianist, and visual artist Karen Salicath Jamali will release her new two-track EP, Angel Sandalphon - The Music Lake, on March 4. The EP advances her ongoing musical dialogue with Archangel Sandalphon and brings together a focused body of work that explores music as a living, flowing presence rather than a fixed form.
The EP consists of two interconnected compositions: “Angel Sandalphon (The Angel of New Beginnings),” first released as a single on January 29, 2026, and “Angel Sandalphon (The Music Lake).” Together, the pieces form a continuous arc. The first introduces initiation and renewal through sound, while the second extends that motion into sustained flow, reinforcing the sense of continuity that defines the Sandalphon journey.
The music arrived during the early morning threshold, when night yields to day. In this space - marked by stillness and heightened awareness -Salicath received the compositions through deep listening. Dawn functions here not only as a time of creation, but as a creative state, where sound moves freely, and intention remains clear. The resulting work positions music as an active current, carrying renewal and new beginnings through resonance rather than structure.
Archangel Sandalphon is traditionally recognized as the angel of music, the guide of artists, the carrier of human prayers, and a presence of renewal. This EP translates those attributes into sound, framing music as prayer in motion. Each composition sustains a sense of movement and connection, allowing sound to function as both expression and passage - flowing through the inner life of the listener.
The Music Lake serves as the conceptual center of the release. It describes a field of consciousness where sound, intention, and connection merge into a single, continuous flow. The EP treats music as a space one enters rather than observes - an environment shaped by movement, listening, and return.
The EP was mastered by renowned engineer Maria Triana, whose two-decade career at Sony Music includes work with Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Camila Cabello, and Britney Spears. Her mastering preserves the EP’s depth and dynamic range while maintaining spatial clarity and tonal focus.
All visual elements accompanying the release are created by Salicath. The EP cover features one of her large fresco paintings, conceived as a visual embodiment of the Music Lake. The drawings used in the accompanying films depict her direct perception of Angel Sandalphon.
Angel Sandalphon – The Music Lake invites listeners into a defined sonic sanctuary - one built on flow, renewal, and connection. The EP presents sound as movement, music as presence, and listening as a form of participation.
