Sam Evans is a songwriter, speaker, and worship leader. He has performed in front of 2,000 FFA members in Columbus, OH, was a guest musician for Love & The Outcome, hosted Nashville Artists, promoted events, and had the honor of singing with Point of Grace for sound check.
“We Praise” is a mid-tempo worship track that warmly recalls the style and spirit of songs from the Hungry album by Vineyard. It sets the tone beautifully, inviting listeners into a reflective and engaging atmosphere.
The EP also features the wonderful vocals of Natalie Evans across several tracks. Her voice is especially striking on the opening track, “We Praise,” where it sits effortlessly and adds a rich layer of depth.
For me, “One More” stands out as a defining moment on the EP, offering a clear glimpse into what Sam Evans is all about. Inspired by Luke 15:7—the joy in heaven over one lost soul—the song was written in Fergus Falls and reflects the value of reaching even one life through the Gospel and Christian radio. Recorded in Johnson City, Tennessee, and filmed atop Roan Mountain this past January, the track highlights both the heart behind the message and the strength of Sam’s vocals.
“Made For Worship” begins with a soft, understated piano and gradually builds into something quite special. It’s another standout moment, with Natalie’s vocals once again bringing an added dimension that allows the song to grow beautifully as it unfolds.
“Only Song” feels like a storytelling piece, reminiscent of the narrative style found in many Third Day songs. At times, Sam’s vocal tone even carries a subtle similarity to Mac Powell, which adds a familiar and comforting quality.
What I appreciate most about this EP is its authenticity. It doesn’t try to be anything other than what it is—an honest and heartfelt collection of worship songs. Sam Evans presents himself as a songwriter who pours both his heart and soul into his lyrics and melodies, resulting in a sincere and meaningful listening experience.
