GRAMMY Award Winning Sandi Patty Set To Release New Song 'The Voice I Have Now'

Aug 07 2026

Few voices have shaped Christian and gospel music like Sandi Patty. Across a career spanning nearly five decades, the five-time GRAMMY Award winner, 40-time GMA Dove Award recipient and Gospel Music Hall of Fame member has recorded more than 30 albums, earned three RIAA Platinum and five Gold certifications, and inspired generations through beloved songs including "Love In Any Language," "Via Dolorosa," "Another Time, Another Place" and the iconic Dottie Rambo-penned, "We Shall Behold Him."

Now, after more than a decade since releasing new music, Patty returns with "The Voice I Have Now" (Stylos Records / Gaither Music Group), arriving August 21. Written by acclaimed songwriter Joel Lindsey (Kristin Chenoweth, Point of Grace, The Martins) and produced by Dove Award-winning producer Gordon Mote (Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson), the deeply personal single coincides with her milestone 70th birthday and reflects on a lifetime marked by music, people, and faith in God.

For Sandi Patty, songs have always been more than performances; they have been her journal.

"The privilege of turning 70 is that I have more years to look back and see God's faithfulness," Patty shares. "And the best predictor of God's future faithfulness is to recount His faithfulness in the past. That is one of the most beautiful things that comes with age. I have so much for which to recount."

Her perspective is woven throughout "The Voice I Have Now," a song that embraces the strength, wisdom, and confidence that can only come through life's experiences. Rather than longing for yesterday, Patty celebrates a voice refined by time; one that has weathered seasons of joy and hardship, found peace beyond the pursuit of past accomplishments, and remains eager to share the hope she has discovered along the way.

Following her 2015 Forever Grateful farewell tour, Patty stepped away from the demands of touring after decades on the road. Ten years later, "The Voice I Have Now" marks not simply a return to recording, but the beginning of a new chapter.
One lyric, in particular, captures the heart of the song: "I'm not ready for the final bow." Rather than serving as a farewell, the new single is a reminder that purpose continues to evolve with every season and that some of life's most meaningful stories are still waiting to be told.

Patty's influence extends far beyond Christian music. Her unforgettable rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" during the 1986 rededication of the Statue of Liberty introduced her to a national audience and established her as one of America's most beloved vocalists. Throughout her career, she has appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, the GRAMMY Awards, and NBC's Christmas in Washington, while also performing at landmark events including PBS' A Capitol Fourth and the presidential inaugurations of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

With "The Voice I Have Now," she adds a beautiful new chapter to an extraordinary musical legacy, one that reminds listeners that God's faithfulness only becomes more evident with time, and that every season has a song worth singing.

"The Voice I Have Now" is available everywhere on August 21; pre-save the song now.
