Vineyard Worship Releasing 'Alabaster' Ahead of New EP 'Reign Forevermore'
'Alabaster' is the second single from Vineyard Worship's upcoming EP, Reign Forevermore (coming October 2nd).
Written by Noah Freeland and Katie Howard (Trent Vineyard, Nottingham), ‘Alabaster’ is a stunningly tender duet of wholehearted devotion inspired by the biblical account in Luke 7:36-50 of a woman who broke an alabaster jar of costly perfume at the feet of Jesus. What appeared extravagant to others was, for her, the only fitting response to the love, mercy, and salvation she had received from Him.
The song reflects on the worthiness of Jesus, described as the "Pearl of Great Price", and explores what it means to offer Him everything. It is both a personal prayer and a congregational declaration: Jesus is worthy of our highest praise, our deepest love, and our complete surrender.
Sung by Jon Solway (Birmingham Vineyard) and Naomi Whybrow (Vineyard Church Cardiff) and recorded at a live recording at Riverside Vineyard in London, this beautiful song is a call to surrender everything to Jesus, holding nothing back, whatever the cost.
