There’s something wonderfully genuine about “Everywhere I Go”, the new song from award-winning songwriter and worship artist Brenton Brown featuring King’s College. It’s joyful, uplifting and, perhaps most importantly, it feels incredibly pure.

The song was born out of an extraordinary songwriting session with children from King’s College in Pelsrus, Jeffreys Bay, South Africa, and you can hear that sense of togetherness running right through the track. At the heart of “Everywhere I Go” is a wonderfully simple thought: wherever we go, God is there. It’s a message that doesn’t need overcomplicating, and the song delivers it with a real sense of joy and freedom.

The story behind King’s College adds another layer to the track. Established in Pelsrus more than 20 years ago after a Dutch couple were moved by the needs they encountered in the local community, the school has grown into a remarkable ministry serving hundreds of children and families. Today, it operates as a private school within the township, providing high-quality education and embracing modern technology while remaining deeply connected to the community around it.

But thankfully, you don’t need to know any of that to enjoy this song. “Everywhere I Go” stands on its own as a great, feel-good piece of Christian music. The movement between English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa gives the track a wonderful sense of identity, reflecting the different cultures represented within the King’s College community.

There’s also a standout rap from Linamandla Matumelo, which adds another voice and another dimension to the song without taking away from its warmth.

What really comes through is the heart behind it all. There’s no feeling of a manufactured collaboration here. Instead, “Everywhere I Go” feels like young people being given the chance to express their faith, their culture and their own stories through music — and that makes the finished song all the more special.
