Nik Ryan Releases Soul-Baring New Pop Single 'Have Mercy'
Rising Christian pop artist Nik Ryan has released his new single, "Have Mercy," available now through NRT Music. The vulnerable, hope-filled track marks Ryan's second release with the label and continues to introduce a fresh new voice rooted in honest storytelling, modern pop production, and an unwavering message of faith.
What began as a prayer quickly became a song. Written by Ryan alongside Coby James and Michael McCray, "Have Mercy" captures the moment when striving gives way to surrender. The song finds Ryan at the end of his own strength after chasing answers that never satisfy, turning to God with a simple plea: "Lord, have mercy."
Loneliness and regret weave throughout the song, but neither gets the final word. "Have Mercy" moves toward the hope of grace, trusting that God can bring light into darkness and finish what He has started.
"Need a love from a God, wholehearted / You'll never leave 'cause You finish what You've started," Ryan sings before arriving at the surrender at the center of the song: "I'm letting go."
The new release follows Ryan's NRT Music debut, "All In," which earned early editorial support from Apple Music on release day. Together, the two singles lay the foundation for Ryan as an emerging artist focused on songs that speak honestly about struggle while continually pointing listeners back to the grace of Christ.
Based in Richmond, Virginia, Ryan writes from personal trials, family experiences, and a faith that refused to let go. His path into professional recording accelerated after a Nashville songwriting retreat in 2025, eventually leading to sessions with James and the development of a sound that blends modern Christian pop and alternative influences with deeply personal songwriting.
"Have Mercy" is available now on digital streaming platforms.
