Sometimes, when reviewing an album, I like to pick out the little things that make individual songs stand out. It might be the lyrics of one track, an incredible bass line on another, or a chorus that stays with you long after the music has stopped. But every now and then, an album comes along that is best appreciated as a complete body of work, and 'Memory' by Roosevelt Stewart falls firmly into that category.

There are so many strong songs here that deserve a mention, but I keep coming back to one simple thought: this album is at its best when you just "listen, enjoy, take in and let the music speak for itself". There is no need to overthink it or dissect every individual element. Instead, you can simply immerse yourself in this wonderful collection of worship songs and appreciate everything it has to offer.

What really stands out to me is the heart and soul that runs through the entire album. There is a genuine sense of feeling and honesty that makes the worship feel both real and personal, while also creating moments that bring people together. These are songs that can speak to you individually in your own moments of worship, but are equally suited to the wider church community singing together as one. These are songs that remind us of who God is, what He has done, and what He will continue to do. That sense of remembrance gives the album a beautiful thread that runs throughout its 14 tracks.

There are tender moments of worship, spontaneous moments that capture the atmosphere of a live gathering, and uplifting passages of praise that invite you to join in. Yet, for me, it is the overall feel of the album that keeps drawing me back. Rather than one particular song or musical moment taking centre stage, it is the way everything comes together that makes 'Memory' such an enjoyable listen.

I feel privileged to have the opportunity to listen to so many different worship albums, each bringing its own style, sound and approach. But every now and then, one connects with me in a slightly different way. 'Memory' was one of those albums. I found myself simply enjoying the music, getting lost in the songs and appreciating the genuine spirit of worship that flows through the whole project.

Sometimes, an album doesn't need to be picked apart to be appreciated. Sometimes, you just need to press play, listen and let it take you on a journey. For me, 'Memory' is exactly that kind of album.
