The songs – 'Praise the Lord, Hallelujah, Amen', 'As You Are' and 'Flood' - feature on the upcoming live worship album *Holy Is the Name*, due for release in February 2027.

Featuring worship team members from around the world, the album is described as “songs of consecration and declarations of praise, and an invitation to lift our eyes and turn them toward God.”

Having listened to these three songs, I think they do exactly that.

I want to start this little review with the second track, 'Praise the Lord, Hallelujah, Amen', because it's a song that really touched me. There's a strength in its understated vocals, while the classic, almost hymn-like feel gives it a timeless quality. One of the biggest plus points for me is hearing the congregation singing so loudly in the mix. It adds a real sense of togetherness and makes you feel part of something bigger.

This is one of those songs that gradually grows into a big worship anthem without ever feeling rushed. Each verse and chorus allows the music to build naturally, but it's the passion pouring out through the lyrics and vocals that really lifts it. There's something incredibly special about this song, and I can easily imagine it becoming a favourite in churches.

Let me jump back to the opening track, 'As You Are', which takes things in a different direction. This is high-energy worship with a modern sound, driven by pounding drums, a strong bass line and a lovely underlying riff. The melody is simple but memorable, almost like a worship chant, allowing the lyrics and the passion behind them to take centre stage. It's the kind of song that draws you in and encourages you to sing along.

Closing this little taster is 'Flood', a much more tender worship song. Its beauty lies in its simplicity, offering a gentler moment that allows the listener to pause, reflect and focus on God. It's a lovely contrast to the energy of 'As You Are' and the gradual build of 'Praise the Lord, Hallelujah, Amen', giving these three songs a pleasing sense of variety.

Hillsong Worship, along with its various musical projects over the years, has given the church some truly great songs, and it continues to do so here. These three tracks offer very different approaches to worship, yet each has something to offer.

Personally, I've really enjoyed this preview of 'Holy Is the Name'. More importantly, these feel like songs made for the local church, with melodies and lyrics that invite people to join in, as well as songs that can find a place in our own personal times of worship. If these three tracks are anything to go by, there's plenty to look forward to when the full album arrives in February 2027.
