We The Kingdom brings their three-part musical journey to a close with 'Soon The Streets Of Gold', an eight-song collection that rounds off a year of new music from the GRAMMY-nominated band.

Having started the journey with 'Dear Jesus' back in January, followed by 'Everything I Thought Was Pleasure' in June, this final release feels like the closing chapter of a much bigger story. Across the three projects, we've heard the band explore the ups and downs of life, the questions that come with faith, and the hope that keeps us moving forward.

But what about this final collection of songs? Well, one of the things I love about We The Kingdom is their ability to move between different sounds without losing that familiar identity, and 'Soon The Streets Of Gold' is another good example of that.

'Take Me Home' opens things up with a country-esque flavour, before 'One Day' brings a little more energy to the collection. There's a lovely sweetness to 'Fly Steady Fly', while 'You Bless Me (Thank You)' is the track that really grabs my attention. I love the piano sound and the chords here, and as the song develops into something wonderfully soulful, it becomes my clear favourite on the album. It's one of those tracks that just makes you want to go back and listen again.

Of course, We The Kingdom haven't forgotten their worship roots. 'I Sing Holy' feels made for a room full of people singing together, with that sense of collective worship that the band do so well. Then there's 'What A Feeling', which takes things in a more modern pop direction, with a sound that brings to mind the kind of energy you'd associate with Imagine Dragons. It's another reminder that this band aren't afraid to stretch beyond one particular style.

The album closes with two very different tracks in 'Heaven Here I Come' which has a very Mumford & Sons sound and 'I Won't Forget', a really well-rounded track that feels like a fitting way to bring this collection to an end. These two tracks leave you with a sense of completion, and that's particularly fitting given the bigger picture behind these three releases.

We The Kingdom know how to write songs that are catchy and accessible, but there's usually something deeper going on beneath the surface. That's what makes their music work so well for me. You can enjoy the melodies and the sounds, but there's also a story being told, something to think about, and something that stays with you after the music stops.

While 'Soon The Streets Of Gold' works perfectly well as a collection of songs in its own right, there's something extra to be gained from hearing it alongside the two releases that came before it. Taken together, all three projects bring everything full circle, making this final chapter feel even more meaningful.

My advice? Give this album a listen, but if you have the time, go back to 'Dear Jesus' and 'Everything I Thought Was Pleasure' too. It's well worth taking the full journey.
