Louder Than The Music

Holland's Kees Kraayenoord has released a sixteen-song best of album titled 'Speak The Words'. The worship leader, who has co-written with Graham Kendrick, Noel Richards, Chris Eaton and Aaron Keyes, is also known as a preacher and speaker addressing issues of discipleship, brokenness and the need to open up to God's love.

'Speak The Words' draws on Kees' previous six albums, and includes 'God Of The Moon And Stars', a cover of the original by Paul Field. As Kees says: "When I was seventeen I had a clear picture of what I wanted to do in life: singing, writing and speaking to help people worship."

As well as a strong sense of where God is at work, Kees has a great ear for melody and arrangement. Never afraid to experiment with instrumentation, to push boundaries or to use music in fresh ways to engage people in worship, Kees resists narrow definitions. Underlying everything is a passionate belief in the power of the local church to transform the society that surrounds it. Whether in the energy of 'Back To You', the emotion of 'For The Cross' or the elemental truth of 'Living Sacrifices', Kees never wanders far from a sense of purpose and direction.
