Billboard Announce Best Christian Songs, Albums & Artists Of 2010
Popular US chart service Billboard have announced their year end charts for 2010. Casting Crowns, MercyMe and TobyMac all topped charts in the various Christian music genre charts. Topping both the top selling Christian Album chart and Christian Album Artist chart Casting Crowns are recognised for their latest album 'Until The Whole World Hears' which also came in at number 37 on the overall Billboard Top 200 best selling albums of 2010 across all genres.
MercyMe's song 'All Of Creation', from the album 'The Generous Mr. Lovewell', came first in the most popular Christian Songs chart. TobyMac tops the Christian Songs Artists chart whilst his album 'Tonight' comes in at number 4 on the top-selling Christian Albums chart.
Other notable achievements include Kutless who feature in all four Christian charts, coming second in the Christian Songs chart with 'What Faith Can Do' from the album 'It Is Well'. The same album charts as the number 9 Christian Album of the year, whilst the band are also number 7 on the Christian Songs Artists chart and number 10 on the Christian Album Artists chart. Chris Tomlin also features in all four Top 10's, at number 3 in the Christian Songs Artists and number 6 in the Christian Album Artists charts, whilst his song 'Our God' from the 'Passion: Awakening' album is number 5 on the Christian Songs chart and incredibly his Christmas album 'Glory In The Highest' is the tenth best selling Christian Album of the year.
