Shane Beales Gives Away Free 365 Beat Song 'A New Year'
British singer/songwriter Shane Beales has released a brand new song, called 'A New Year', as a free download from his website. The special song, accompanied by a video, was recorded with Sam Jones and features exactly 365 beats, one for every day of the year.
"Following on from December's iTunes release of 'Battleship', it is with great pleasure that I announce the release of brand song 'A New Year' to celebrate 2011", said Shane. "Recorded on one cold day in December with the superb Sam Jones in Manchester, musicology geeks may be pleased to know that the song is in 7/8 time and has 52 bars, making it a grand total of 365 beats in length - one for each day of the year."
Shane has recently been working on new songs and has plans for a number of collaborations this year. "As well as writing and recording with Sam, I was also back in the EMI studio just before Christmas recording some new songs that I look forward to sharing with you soon. I also have some more songwriting collaborations coming up and there will no doubt be a few surprises in-store along the way."
