These albums have been introducing the songs that have gone on to be used in Sunday morning and evening services in the UK ever since. For people who have never heard of Soul Survivor, the basic low down is that it is one of Europe's largest youth events which is held over three weeks in the middle of the British summer at Shepton Mallett, England with over 30,000 festival goers attending for teaching and worship.


Now Soul Survivor have decided to release a DVD of the event. The DVD features some of the best worship music from the youth event from the past few years and includes worship leaders Beth Croft, Ben Cantelon, Tom Field and Jamie Rodwell leading the thousands of worshippers closer to Jesus.


I was a little surprised when I saw this was being released as I really didn't think there was a need for the DVD, part of me felt I had the CDs of the last few years which are all great, why would I want them basically on DVD as well. But once I put the DVD on, my view soon changed. Seeing everyone worshipping God in that marque brought back all the great memories of being at Soul Survivor, all of what God has done in my life during those weeks in the wet British summer. There is always something inspiring about seeing so many people worship God, something you can not fully get out of a live CD.


The track-listing of this album is second to none, with such strong tracks like 'Saviour Of The World', 'Praise Overflows', 'Not Ashamed', 'This Is Our God', 'Your Name High', 'Light The Sky' and the Phil Wickham classic 'You're Beautiful'. I'm sure you will not find a better selection of the most important worship songs that are being sung around the world at the moment. 


To not take away the focus or distract from the reason why everyone is there, Soul Survivor try to keep what is going on stage to a minimum, with everything being raw and simple on stage. This means no big light shows or clever camera work, this is a DVD showing people singing with heart and soul to the true living God.
The DVD ends with what can only be describe as one of those spine tingling moments. Hearing just the voices of the young congregation unassisted without any musical help, singing out with robustness and passion to the song Amazing Grace, it's one of those must-see moments and the perfect way to end this DVD.
