Louder Than The Music

New British four-piece alternative rock band Ghostree will release their self-titled debut EP next week, 6th February. Fronted by singer Haydon Spenceley, the former Freeslave front man and solo artist in his own right, the band recorded the EP in Nashville with producers Kevin Bruchert and Brandon Perdue (Jessa Anderson, The Ember Days), a process they documented for LTTM in a series of Guest Blogs.

Alongside Haydon, the band consists of Allie Kelly (Guitars), Ben Lewis (Bass) and Mark Halliday (Drums). Describing the five-track EP, the band said, "It begins with Hope, a twisting, turning mini-epic, continues through the minor-key flourishes of You They See and Glorious, before reaching the radio-ready Save My Day and closing with the final, satisfying cacophony of closer Hallelujah, featuring beautiful strings from Cara Fox and Elenore Denig (Gungor)."

"These are to sing in the shower, to hum on the bus, perhaps even to sing in a Church, but more than anything, these are songs which are honest about the darkness and pain of difficult times, but which also point to love, and hope. Chris Vicari and Ryan Stubbs (The Glorious Unseen) add flourishes of class and texture throughout the record, showing the true collaborative nature of the project."

The artwork for the EP was designed by former Delirious? drummer Stew Smith aka 'Smeezer Designologist', and features a painting by Joshua Stump. Ghostree will be touring throughout 2012 and will release the follow up to this EP in the final quarter of the year.
