Blog: Introducing: Empire Nation
Empire Nation are made up of Ed Bird, enigmatic frontman, Sammy D, guitar genius, closely followed by power-rock legend Sam Greene on bass, and Sam Glazebrook, pulsing out the beats at the back. The result - a new clean cut and well-educated sound that's dressed to impress.
In spring 2009 Empire Nation launched their debut album 'Airtight'. Their modest aim is to change the world one riff at a time, using their faith, creativity and refusal to conform to the norm. They want to produce music that will make everyone from students to politicians sit up and take notice. To illuminate what matters, to reject the mundane, to live and play in the context of something bigger than a first impression: to challenge, create, magnify and amplify.

Their sound and style is classically British, an irresistible mix of rock beats and catchy melodies; high-energy, solid rock-worship that leads the audience into a deeper inspiration of faith and motivation to live for God.
Their second album 'Closer' was released in May 2012. The ten-track album, produced by Andy Baker of Resound Media, also included the songs 'Fire Fall Down' & 'You're Not Alone'.

So what does this year hold for Empire Nation? Well firstly you will be able to catch the band at this year's Big Church Day Out, which is already looking like the best line up the festival has ever had. Also with more tour dates being added to their website all the time, 2013 looks like it's going to be a busy year for these British Rockers.
