Review: Twelve 24
Tell The Truth

Jan 08 2014

Twelve24 are Ryan (Connecticut, US), Christina (Ghana, via Milton Keynes) and Josh (Manchester). Three big personalities with three powerful stories, all united by a burning passion to share the good news of Jesus Christ with their generation.

The band formed in 2008 through The Message Trust's training course 'Message Academy' and were released into high schools around Manchester soon after. Word spread fast.

The name Twelve24 comes from John 12:24 in the Bible which says "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels a plentiful harvest of new lives" (NLT).

On this release the band have infused exciting dance music with some great lyrics. What A Feeling is the perfect example of this. This track would sound great on your iPod, in a club, or in a school hall disco.

The band are about more than just their music, concerts and tours. They are offering young people a hope and a future through a new life in Jesus.

Light Up The Night, which features the amazing Guvna B, is one truly brilliant dance track.

As a collection of songs there are so many strong tracks. I love the sound of the track All The Way, but it's the tracks Oblivion and Vegas that have some truly great beats and sounds that really sum up the band. They have managed to mix together great music with positive messagess about the the big issues that young people deal with today and hit them head on by not watering down the message of the Gospel. It's not an easy task to do whilst still producing quality music, but Twelve 24 manage it.

I love the work this band are doing and as this is a free album it is well worth getting and even telling others about. If you like music from Guvna B and LZ7 then this album is one you need to get because it's full of so many great songs that you will want to put on your music player and blast out of the speakers.
