Grammy-award winning rock band Switchfoot release their ninth studio album, 'Fading West' today, 14th January 2014.

The new album's first single, 'Love Alone Is Worth The Fight' has been overwhelmingly supported at US radio, with every Billboard Christian Hot AC/CHR reporting station playing the single in its debut week, marking the only time this has happened since the chart launched in 2006. The song has been No. 1 for five consecutive weeks on the charts.

"We have never worked so hard on a project, nor traveled so far for inspiration, than we did to create this record", said the band. "These songs are full of heart, hope, sweat, and saltwater."

In the song 'Who We Are' the band look back to a time when they'd just begun to push toward their dreams of bringing their music to the world. Featuring choir-like backing vocals from the band members' children - as well as the blend of edgy atmospherics and bright, breezy melodies that's become a hallmark of Switchfoot's emotionally intelligent and uplifting brand of rock - it embodies both a sweetly youthful spirit and the hard-won, highly impassioned joy that comes from triumphing through 17 years as a band.
