The Jono Top 10
We are half way through 2009 and so far it's been a wonderful year for Christian music, some great albums, some not so great albums (in my opinion). But the one common goal of each of these albums is to glorify God.
When asked to create the Jono 6 months LTTM Album Chart, I jumped at the opportunity. I was asked to pick the top ten albums so far this year. So below is a list of the albums, in my opinion the best of the last 6 months:
01. Newsboys - In the Hands of GodNewsboys have had a funny year so far, a new album recorded by one singer, he then goes and a new singer is in to do the tour and promote the new album. Saying that it is a fantastic album that has so many different wonderful moments.
02. Yfriday - Great & GloriousBack with a wonderful worship album, God centred lyrics, with songs that you might be singing in your church for years to come.
03. Superhero - The Bicycle ThievesThe Scottish Rockers third album and their best yet, pushing the boundaries of Christian Indie Music, they are touring everywhere, so go and find a gig and have a listen.
04. Hillsong United - Tear down The WallsAs said in my review, some days I love Hillsong, some days I'm not their biggest fan, but this album hits all the marks.
05. Matt Kearney - City of Black & WhiteHe might sound like Chris Martin, but these songs are amazing songs, love them all.
06. Christy Nockles - Life Light UpWhen I first had the opportunity to listen to this album, I knew straight away this was something special.
07. Galactus Jack - Reality BytesMr Galactus Jack had to be in this list, with his driving dance beat EP, this could be the start of something massive.
08. Jars of Clay - The Long Fall Back To EarthThe Americans are back with a stunning new album; The Long Fall Back to Earth is top quality from the pro band who know what people want to hear.
09. Tim Hughes - Happy DayKnown to his friends as Mr England, this album/DVD is basically a greatest hits live album. Track after track of some of Tim Hughes best songs, recorded at top quality.
10. Reason - The 11th Street SessionsThey were our artist of the month, they are from South Africa and they are great guys, a fantastic 6 track EP - can't wait for more.
