New London Worship Band Heirs Chart With 'Live at St James'
Heirs, a brand new worship band from London, UK, released their debut EP 'Live at St James' on 17th November and peaked at Number 11 on the Christian & Gospel iTunes chart on release day.
In June 2015, the band recorded the live EP at St James Muswell Hill, consisting of one original track and two rewrites of theologically rich and expressive old hymns of the Christian faith.
"It's been amazing to have had so much support in the making of this project, and we hope you enjoy listening to these songs as much as we enjoyed making them!" says the band.
Heirs are a collective of musicians who initially formed to lead a one-off creative evangelistic event called 'Alternative Good Friday' at their home church in north London.
The band felt that they had only scratched the surface of what was possible in the context of congregational worship, and so they have continued playing together, growing in their faith in Jesus and digging deeper into an expression of worshipful sincerity and image-bearing creativity.
