Former London Community Gospel Choir Singer Diana Stanbridge Releasing 'Sing'

May 30 2016

Accomplished singer and former member of the London Community Gospel Choir Diana Stanbridge is releasing her debut album 'Sing'.

Diana was originally born in Denmark but moved to London at the age of 20 to study performing arts at The School of Creative Ministries under the leadership of David and Carrie Grant. She spent 6 years with the London Community Gospel Choir, was on the worship team at Kensington Temple and now sings with Noel Robinson.

Diana says the praise and worship album, which has been nearly three years in the making, features a mixture of gospel, funk, soul, blues and pop sounds and tells the story of her journey so far.

"I have wanted to sing from a very young age but it has not always been an easy journey. The song Sing! is written about a very defining moment in my life when I felt discouraged and wanted to give up. I was in my bedroom pouring out my frustrations to God when it felt like I heard all of the angels in heaven calling out: 'Sing girl, you better sing girl!' - a bit like people might encourage each other in a gospel church. It was such a powerful experience that I knew I had to keep going and not give up."

Over the years Diana has sang with international artists including Mariah Carey, P Diddy, Beverly Knight, Professor Green, Israel Houghton and Emeli Sande. Diana hopes the album will both help others connect with God and remind them not to give up on their dreams.

The album features drummer Troy Miller (Adele, Amy Winehouse, Laura Mvula) and pianist/ composer Tim Oliver (Pixie Lott, Neneh Cherry, Gloria Gaynor). Diana’s husband Carl Stanbridge (Alexandra Burke, Gloria Gaynor, Matt Schofield) plays bass and produced the album.
