BarlowGirl To Release New Album 'Love & War'

Jul 22 2009

Critically acclaimed three sister rock band BarlowGirl will release their new album 'Love & War' on 22nd September. Produced by Otto Price (GRITS, dcTalk) the album focuses on the hope and passionate love we have for God while at the same time dealing with the struggles and difficulties of our Christian walk.

"We wanted to paint a picture of the two extremes of being followers of Christ," says BarlowGirl. "There is passion on both sides that deal with the love of God and people and the fight (war) for what's right and to bring encouragement at the same time. The reason we fight is because of this flow of love and we need to wake up the church from its comfort zone. We wrote these songs to express the tender loving passion that we have as the basis of our relationship with Jesus, and about the difficult battles we all face as we walk out our faith in this world."

The three Barlow sisters; Alyssa (lead vocals, bass, keyboard), Becca (backing vocals, guitar), and Lauren (lead vocals, drums), signed to Fervent Records in 2003 and released their self titled debut album the following. In the five years since then they have sold over one million albums; received ten Dove nominations and had longest running number 1 single (13 weeks) in Christian Radio Weekly chart history with their mega-hit, 'I Need You To Love Me'.

BarlowGirl will be headlining a tour in support of 'Love & War' later this year, which will also feature Superchick and VOTA.
