Remedy Drive Working On New Album 'The North Star'
Nashville rock band Remedy Drive are working on their new album 'The North Star', with a Kickstarter Campaign just launched. For the past five years the band have used their music to shine a light on slavery and to raise funds for the counter trafficking organization The Exodus Road, raising over $250,000 to help fund rescues and raids.
"We’re just a rock and roll band. I’m just a song writer from Nebraska", said David Zach. "These past four years I’ve spent months of my life undercover in brothels on red-light streets in Southeast Asia and in Latin America finding evidence of sex trafficking, using covert gear to capture that evidence and then partnering with local authorities to make raids.
We started recording this new album The North Star on the top of buildings in Southeast Asia, often times within blocks of the red-light district streets where they sell teenage girls against their will. The same streets that Matt Parker, the founder of the counter trafficking organization The Exodus Road, and I would go out and work at night.
Our goal was that the devastating reality of slavery and injustice would find its way onto this album. Timmy Jones, The Duke, joined us in the studio on drums. Philip Zach, my brother, produced the album overseas and at The Grid Studio. Corey Horn has been with the band for 7 years now and this is our 5th album together. We can't wait for you all to hear it!"
