British singer/songwriter Chloe Reynolds is back with her second album 'I Am Brave'.

Chloe's debut album, 'Broken Beautiful' was released to critical acclaim in September 2016, reaching No.1 in the UK Christian Music Charts. Following a 27 date album launch tour, the title track was later aired on BBC Radio 2 courtesy of Good Morning Sunday. Having recently toured with Anastacia, Marti Pellow and Jane Siberry, the Gloucester-based artist is well on the way to breaking her own record of 270 performances in one year.

I was sitting down in my kitchen reviewing the album when my wife walked in, she didn't know what I was doing and I think a little upset I hadn't started cooking tea. I had the new album from Chloe playing. Her first reply on hearing this album was “Wow, she has a stunning voice, who is this?”. After much explaining she then replied "I would like to have this album in the car". So there you go a new fan.

In a world of atmospheric and synth pop music and computerised vocals, hearing a clean voice on top of good British soft rock/pop music is actually a bit refreshing. Chloe does this perfectly on an album that has quality after quality track.

In the main, the album falls into the acoustic mid tempo piano world of music. The big anthem of the album is the uplifting 'Not Afraid' which has all the making of a classic. 'Quicksand' is an instant favourite of mine. I love the sweetness of 'I Am Brave' and the elegance of 'Glow' is something else. 'Hold Time' is a beautiful and breathtaking track. I hope you can tell I really enjoyed this album.

So where do I finish this album review? Much as I started it I think. What stands out more than anything on this album is the vocals of Chloe Reynolds - they really are the star of the album. Clean and smooth vocals that bring the lyrics to the forefront of the listener's ears with care. This is easy music in a world that seems so busy. So grab a beverage, put this album on, find a big blanket and a comfy chair and sit back and enjoy.
