Davis Mallory Releases New Single 'Origami'

Aug 15 2018

Davis Mallory has released his new single "Origami" written in Nashville, TN with producer Brandon Meagher. "Origami" is a "pop 'n roll" banger about the complexities of a new relationship, comparing it to the Japanese art of Origami.

"Oragami is a childhood game I loved to play," says Davis "I spent many hours making every imaginable animal and object. While in a songwriting session with Brandon Meagher, I found the word 'Origami' to perfectly fit the melody I had in mind for the chorus of our song: Or-I-Ga-Mi. Brandon liked the idea and we built a story around the word. This was my first time songwriting with Brandon and we were arranged to work together by our representatives at SESAC."

"I like how this song is a little more rock-n-roll than much of my other music. I drew influence from Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Freddy Mercury (Queen). I begin with a conversational rhythm in the opening verse and lead into a sung anthemic chorus. It's one of my favorite songs written to date," says Davis.
