Ben Thomas Releases 'Air' Single Ahead of New Album
Ben Thomas has released 'Air', the first single from his fifth full length studio album 'The Way Up' due out on September 13th, 2019.
Discussing the forthcoming album, Ben says "It documents the past several years of shifts for me... the breakdown of the "up-and-to-the-right" thinking that dominates our culture, my own spiritual de- and re-construction, the awakening to the connectivity of all things.
It's easily the most personal batch of songs I've ever written, born out of fear and hope and failure and loss and joy. I'm so glad I've been able to take the time necessary to let the songs grow, evolve and marinate. I’m thrilled with all the interesting contrasts and textures that have emerged: light/dark, acoustic/electronic, up/down. I can't wait for you to hear it."
"So much of my life has been guided by fear... Fear I'm running out of time. Fear I'm making the wrong choices. Fear puts crosshairs on every person or situation that feels foreign or different than me. "Air" is an invitation to "breathe deep, unsee the lines of the crosshair", connect with my true self and live confidently from that place.
I'm releasing "Air" as a "single + meditation". Track one is the song. Track two is a 6-minute guided reflection and meditation I created with my talented friends, Ms. BrightSea and Daniel Bertsch."
