Gretchen Keskeys Returns with New Music and 'Words of Truth'

Nov 24 2019

Inspirational singer-songwriter Gretchen Keskeys’ new album, "Words of Truth," may very well be considered her most inspirational to date. Released on November 22nd by Creative Soul Records, Keskeys' third studio album features eleven songs inspired by the healing truth of Jesus Christ and His Word.

"The songs on this album are really to encourage the believer,” says Keskeys, who is no stranger to sharing heartfelt gems of spiritually-centered encouragement throughout her extensive music ministry. On "Words of Truth,” Keskeys tackles familiar themes of hope, faith and God’s love with songs like “Look to Jesus” and "God Will See Us Through.”

"Its aim is about redemption, hope, and healing,” says Faith Filled Family Magazine about the new album. "And what a magnificent collection of songs she’s complied to achieve that. Gretchen isn’t merely singing because she’s blessed with a melodious voice. This anointed servant of God is using her God-given talent to share the gospel of Christ through songs of praise, worship, and adoration. There’s a stirring message within each piece of music. Each one tells a story that anchors your faith, encourages your heart, and uplifts your spirit. The unfailing love of God permeates throughout.”

“I have a heart for hurting people,” says Keskeys. "People who feel wrecked and hopeless. People who struggle with addiction, self defeating behavior and feelings of low worth.”

Keskeys knows the true darkness of mental illness. As a young adult, she experienced depression, agoraphobia and anxiety attacks. It was made more complicated by the fact that her late father was a well known psychiatrist and the author of a best-selling self help book. Feeling hopeless, she had lost all peace and the ability to feel joy. It was only the love of Jesus Christ through His Word that could heal her. Since those dark days, Keskeys has used the gifts He has given her and written about her journey through her songs.

Christian music fans quickly embraced Keskeys following her debut album, "Walking in the Spirit” (2016), and the follow up, “Pure Hope” (2017) - both from Creative Soul Records. She made frequent appearances on Christian television programs nationwide, including stops at Cornerstone TV’s “Real Life,” Christian Television Network, “Atlanta Live,” “Babbie’s House,” and even Fox News Channel.

Keskeys performs at churches, events and women’s conferences nationwide, where she openly shares her songs alongside an inspirational testimony detailing her complete deliverance from anxiety and depression. And she is also a regular worship leader at the Folsom Women’s Facility at Folsom Prison.

"I am there one or two times a month and am blessed each time,” says Keskeys. "The women pour out their hearts in worship and are serious in their Bible study. I can relate to them because I know what it’s like to be at a place with no hope and a life that was scarred early on with a trail of bad choices and mistakes. They found what I found in Jesus Christ and I feel very at home in this prison chapel. It’s beautiful to see these transformed lives.”

Produced by Eric Copeland for Creative Soul Records and mixed by GRAMMY winner Ronnie Brookshire (Michael McDonald, CeCe Winans, Michael W. Smith, Sandi Patty), “Words of Truth” will be available November 22nd at all major digital retailers.
