Tim Williams Releases Acoustic Video Version of 'The Earth' Feat. Uganda's Watoto Church
Singer-songwriter Tim Williams recently released his debut single 'The Earth' and has now released an acoustic video version of the song featuring the famous Watoto Church from Uganda. The first single has already seen wide success across the UK, making it’s way onto playlists across Christian radio. Tim now moves to introduce an extra “global sound†to his music by partnering with Watoto to bring about this new version filmed live in Uganda.
“I was given the opportunity to go over to Uganda at the end of 2019 to partner with Watoto church to deliver some workshops and teaching to some of the musicians in the church. It was such an amazing honour and privilege!†shares Tim Williams about his story with Watoto so far. “When we were planning the original studio single, I was chatting with the producers about how much I’d love to hear a choir singing on the end of the track, but we just couldn’t make it work this time round. It’s funny the way God works all these things together though, as just two weeks later, my good friend Jon Goode from Creative Labs Academy rang me up to invite me to go out to Watoto to help with some teaching.â€
Watoto Church in Uganda are known all across the world for their incredible ministry to orphaned children, and the children’s choirs that they tour the world with to raise funds and awareness of the work they are doing.
“I was so excited at the opportunity to go to Uganda and work with this incredible church, and it wasn’t until a few days later that I suddenly realised that this was the church made famous by their touring children’s choirs. All of the pieces began to fit together as I realised that God was about to do something special†says Tim.
“We chatted with the team over there, and they were so excited to try and make this work too. Next thing you know, we’re over in Kampala, teaching, sharing and having the opportunity to record this incredible version with some of their main worship leaders at the church.â€
